The established order

The established order

The established order is a concept that can be viewed at several scales running from small and short term to large and long term.

We all have know the small scale, generally short term established order by personal experience, being our parents/tutors the first established order we have to deal with. Then there is the teachers, the police or your boss.

The large scale established order is generally not represented by a specific person that we deal with directly, but in many cases it has direct influence on our lives, sometimes even without being aware: emperors, kings and queens, spiritual leaders, religions, governments and most recently: the international coorporations.

In many cases the small scale EOs are actually no more than the executing final tentacles of one or more large scale EO.

Even if the EOs are many, of many types, may have different views and sometimes even be hostile amongst them, they all share some basic characteristics. What the EO generally want is that you are "with them" and they generally use promises or manipulation to "get you". They promise peace and freedom, they will cut taxes, make you rich, happy, healthy, more atractive or even a better life after death, if only you are "with them".

Now, a certain kind of order, inevitably, has to exist to keep society running and help mankind progressing.

In that sense EO is a means that should be in favour of all. However, as often happens, the means turn into goals and as such become sensitive to faul play, corruption and worse for the sake of maintaining specific established orders.

Fortunately history seems to teach us that no EO is everlasting and that, over the centuries, they slowly evolve towards a better society as a whole (at least for the happy few in the so-called developed countries).

Abstract of the current economic order

To understand a next economic order, first you have to understand the current economic order. I'm not talking about understanding it in detail, a global view with reasonable generalizations will do!

  1. Resources (commodities and minerals, labor, coffee, tea, rice, bananas...) are bought (taken) cheaply from underdeveloped countries (mainly Africa, Asia and south America) by, mainly, western (G7 or G20 or the like) corporations and industries (energy, pharmacy, technology, clothes, food, transport,...)
  2. These corporations transform the resources to end products they sell at 10 or 100 times their costs, the more the better.
  3. Unfortunately for the corporations, none of them is the only one in their branch and they have to do hard competition (how sad)
  4. For each to sell as much as possible, they all need to push their products to the market as hard as possible (a process intelligently called marketing) and have to force consumerism - more than is really necessary
  5. In reality we are NOT living in a consumerist society (consumerism - wikipedia), as said frequently, we are living in a productionist society!!
  6. The result of this productionist society is that people (mainly in the "developed" countries) consume more than they really need/want and therefore use up more resources (natural and from the underdeveloped countries) and generate more garbage and pollution.
Instead of buying that "normal" utility car, they feel they "need" that big 4 wheel drive, because it's marketed so well that they ended up believing it will make them more appealing and, since appealing is not politically correct enough anymore, more safe too! They will be happier persons.... 8-?

why do people or collectives have this need to impose their views upon others?? Politics, religions and companies.
