Install Lightbox2
Configure permissions
go to Site Configuration >> Lightbox2 >> Automatic Image handling: /admin/settings/lightbox2/automatic Under "Image node settings" activate the handler you want to use - Lightbox just shows the one image in an overlay - Lightbox group gives << previous - next >> options (manual) - Slideshow shows the group of images in a slideshow (of course) no need to hit "next" for the next picture.
